Betty Lou White (Stollsteimer/Goffee), age 89 of Dexter, Michigan passed away peacefully Sunday July 26th at Arbor Hospice Residence, Saline, Michigan. She was born on June 4, 1931 in Ann Arbor, Michigan to the late Walter and Lucille (Warner) Stollsteimer. Betty was preceded in death by her husbands' Himy Goffee & Dale White. She is survived by her children Lori (Brad) Newland, Robert (Olga) Goffee and Steve (Kim) Goffee. She also leaves 8 grandchildren Jessica, Katie, Amy, Mackenzie, Joey, Gregory, Tatiana & Pasha as well as 8 great-grandchildren. Betty graduated from Ann Arbor High in 1949. She retired from the Ann Arbor Public Schools and was a lifelong member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 46, where she held many positions. They included being Vice President and Secretary. Additionally, Betty was an active member of the Washtenaw County 8/40. She loved making quilts for her grandchildren and giving her table runners to friends. She was an avid sports fan, especially of The University of Michigan football team. Her biggest thrill was watching her kids and then grandkids play baseball, football as well as any other activities that they were involved in. Betty truly enjoyed hosting friends especially during the holidays. Showing off her 13 different kinds of Christmas cookies as well as her famous knifflies and German potato salad. In her later years Betty enjoyed having ladies in for their once a month Bridge game. A Private Memorial Service will be held later this month. Donations may be made to the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
