DOUGLAS GLENN RUGH March 11, 1941 ˜ July 17, 2020 Douglas Glenn Rugh, 79, of Vancouver, Washington, died Friday, July 17, 2020 in his home. He was born March 11, 1941 to Glenn Ulmer and Helen Matilda (Mueller) Rugh on the west side of Chicago, Cook, Illinois. He joined the Air force in 1961 and served in Ground Radar Electronic Maintenance for 8 years. On March 16, 1963 he was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving in many capacities throughout his life. He loved to sing and sang in many church choirs. He had a passion for genealogy devoting many hours through the years in service to this cause. Doug found his calling working for the church as a maintenance engineer for 25 years, he also worked as a school bus driver and managed a courier office. On May 16, 1964, Doug married his sweetheart and eternal companion, Bonnie Pearl Huff. They were blessed with 10 children and 25 grandchildren in their 56 years together. Doug is survived by his wife, Bonnie; children, Carolyn (Bill) Dykstra, Trevor Rugh, Jonathan (Lorri) Rugh, Stanley Rugh, Robert (Sarah) Rugh, Michelle (Will) Carter, Patricia (Jared) Cheney, Anthony (Jaime) Rugh, Kimberly Rugh, Victoria (Blair) Denison; 25 grandchildren; many others who felt like he was their adopted father; and his siblings, Donna (Chuck) Toothman, Sally Kessel and Bonnie (Allen) Cumberland. He was prceded in death by his parents, brother, Clifford and his wife Nancy. Doug loved many and his laughter and presence will be greatly missed. A memorial will be held at a future date once it is safe for everyone to attend. At which time, Doug will be laid to rest at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.
