Joan A. Conanan, 75 Mass is Wednesday for Travis resident Joan A. Conanan (nee Driscoll), 75, of Travis, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2020. She was the beloved wife of Samuel for 58 years; loving mother of Christine LaFrance and her husband, Russell, Adam Conanan and his wife, Jean, Samuel Conanan and his wife, Susan, and Kerri Hafey and her husband, Rory; cherished grandmother of Danielle, Steven, Michael, Meghan, Brianne, Alexandra, Adam, Alyssa, Jenna, Daniella, Savanna, Everly, and Declan; devoted great-grandmother of Melina and Jack; dear sister of Mary DiMartino and her late husband, Sonny, Thomas Driscoll and his wife, Mila, and the late John Driscoll, and fond sister-in-law of Mary Driscoll. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Mrs. Conanan was born and raised in Brooklyn and graduated from Bay Ridge High School. She relocated to Staten Island in 1970, settling in Travis. She was mainly a homemaker and had various jobs on Staten Island, the latest as a College Assistant for CUNY, at CSI. Some of her hobbies included gardening, traveling the world, and attending live theatre productions. The funeral is from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., on Wednesday, July 29, departing at 10 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Pity R.C. Church at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, July 28, from 4 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home. Due to the current pandemic, the number of visitors into the funeral home and church will be limited and all visitors must wear masks.
