John Everett Denny Nashville, Tennessee - John Everett Denny, age 79, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on July 21, 2020, in Nashville, after a long battle with Diabetes and Alzheimer's Disease. He is preceded in death by his father, James Rae Denny, and his mother, Margaret Osment Denny. He is survived by his son, James Rae Denny II, of Paducah, KY; his wife, Pandora Denny, of Nashville, TN; his sister, Linda Gayle Denny, of Hendersonville, TN; and his brother, J. William Denny, of Nashville, TN; grandson, Carson Denny of New York City, NY; and granddaughter, Lacy Jane Denny Wilson, of Nashville, TN. John attended Castle Heights Military Academy in Lebanon, TN, and graduated from Battle Ground Academy in Franklin, TN. He completed his Bachelors in Business at Cumberland College in Lebanon, TN. John enjoyed a career in the Country Music business, initially working for Cedarwood Publishing Company. He furthered his venture with his own music publishing company, and he had his own recording studio, Denny's Den. He was also a talent manager, record producer, and record company owner. Over the years, John had many friends in the music business. He was a member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS), the Nashville Songwriters' Association, and a founding member of Reunion of Professional Entertainers (ROPE), receiving their ROPE International Lifetime Achievement Award in Country Music in 2004. He is also a lifetime member of the Country Music Association (CMA). There will be a private family graveside service at one o'clock in the afternoon on Thursday, July 30, 2020, at the Historic Mount Olivet Cemetery in Nashville, TN.
