McKay(Kirkey), Linda Kay 8/22/1947 - 12/22/2019 Flint Linda Kay McKay(Kirkey), age 72 of Flint, MI passed away peacefully with her daughter dog (Gracie Girl) by her side on 12/22/2019. Less than 6 months prior on July 4, 2019 Linda lost her best friend, husband and love of her life, James Martin McKay (born 4/01/1948), he was 71. Linda and Jim were united in marriage on June 24, 1967. Jim worked for Greenley's Services and served in the United States Army from 1968-1974. Linda spent much of her career with Hamady Brothers and Sears. Jim and Linda owned and operated McKay Appliance Services in Burton for many years before moving to Las Vegas to enjoy their retirement. Linda loved racing cars and it wasn't unusual back in the day to hear her down at Auto City tearing up the track. They enjoyed bowling and Jim loved to fish and hunt. Linda and Jim never had any human kids, but were the parents of many Scottish Terriers with their final Scottish Terrier child, Gracie Girl joining them at the Rainbow Bridge on 6/01/2020. Linda was preceded in death by her father Frank Wade Kirkey Jr in 1951 and "adopted" father Lloyd James Kuhl in 1987. Survived by her mother Donna Kuhl; sisters Kim Spalla(Mike), Lori Kuhl(Becky), Gail Lawler, brother James Kuhl, many nieces and nephews, and special cousins Cathy and Suzie. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Donald Luther and Mary Virginia McKay. Survived by brothers Donald and Thomas McKay. A celebration of life will be held at South Higgins Lake State Park(106 State Park Drive, Roscommon, MI) on Saturday July 18, 2020 starting at 2 P.M. Location will be at the Pavilion by the State Park Store.
