Rickert, Guy William "Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful." - Matthew 25:21. After years of fighting cancer and many complications, Guy went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, June 27, 2020. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Erin Rickert; and his son Will. He will be remembered by his father, Bill Rickert (Norma); mother-in-law, Sharon Munski; father-in-law, Donald Munski (Barbara); brothers Dave Rickert (Kris), Scott DeJong (Kris), Chris Rickert (Rhonda), Denny DeJong (Carrie), and Drew DeJong; sisters Kathy Rickert, Renece Termolen (Jim); sister-in-law, Kristin Hinterman (Carl); grandfather-in-law, Howard Nyenhuis; best friend Joe Simmons and his daughter Skylar; many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends. Guy was preceded in death by his mother, Rose Rickert; brothers Rog DeJong and Marty Rickert; grandparents Abe and Marge Reynhout and Emma Rickert; niece, Jodie Conley; and best friend, Justin Niedzwiecki. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 from 6-8PM at Cook Funeral Home, 2067 84th Street, Byron Center, MI 49315. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at 11AM at Kentwood Community Church, 1200 60th Street SE, Kentwood, MI 49508. Rev. Chad McCallum will be officiating. Interment will be at Jamestown Cemetery. In honor of Guy and in lieu of flowers, donations for the family can be made to the Guy Rickert Memorial Fund at Lake Michigan Credit Union.
