Elizabeth Goodwin (Betty) Corretti
Elizabeth (Betty) Goodwin Corretti passed away peacefully Friday, June 26 at her home at the age of 95. Betty was preceded in death by her parents Akron and Cora Goodwin Goodwin, and her husband of 71 years, Billy Corretti. She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Corretti Harris ( Dr. Alun), her Grandson, William Corretti (Corey) Harris ( Ashley) and a Great Grandson, William Corretti Harris, Jr. (Liam). Mrs Corretti was active in Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church where she and her husband assisted with the founding of the Sunshine Contemporary Service. Betty served for many years as the Jefferson County manager of the Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church polling place. In recognition of her community service, Mrs. Corretti was voted "Pride of the Valley" by the Shades Valley Sun. Born in Albertville, Alabama, she attended Stephens College In Columbia Missouri and was a graduate of the University of Alabama where she was a proud member of Delta Zeta Sorority. Mrs. Corretti was well known, respected and loved by many in the Vestavia community. A graveside service will be held at Elmwood cemetery July second at Eleven. In lieu of flower, make memorial donations to Big Oak Ranch or Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church.
