Joan M. Fistler PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP Joan M. Fistler, 82, of Plainfield Township, passed away Friday, June 26, 2020 in St. Luke's Hospital-Anderson Campus. Born November 8, 1937, in Easton, PA, she was a daughter of the late Michael P. Dew, Sr. and Merle M. (Grube) Dew. Her husband of 58 years, William G. Fistler, Jr., passed away November 14, 2012. She was last employed by A & H Sportswear. Prior to that, she worked at the former JoAnn Dress. Joan loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, ceramics, crocheting and casino trips. She was a member of ILGWU. Surviving are three sons, William G. Fistler III and his wife Mary, of Easton, Eric J. Fistler and his wife Stacy, of Hellertown, and Patrick M. Fistler, of Belfast; two daughters, Debra A. Markert and her husband David, of Bethlehem Township, and Mary S. Fistler, of the Poconos; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers and four sisters. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Joseph J. Fistler, and a brother, Joseph S. Dew. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph's New Cemetery, Williams and Sampson Sts., Easton. Call Thursday 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., 2101 Northampton St., Wilson Borough, observing social distancing and mask requirements.
