Hammond, Jeanne 6/25/2020 Grand Rapids Jeanne Hammond, age 101, of Grand Rapids, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday June 25, 2020. She was born in Zelham, Netherlands to Johannes and Johanna Bosman, and came to the United States through Ellis Island when she was a young girl. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, John Bosman, Heim Bosman, Nellie Wilhelm, Ben Bosman, Johanna Bosman and Minnie Lutke. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Russ and Margaret Hammond, Eileen Hammond, Ralph Hammond, Roy and Kathy Hammond, Randy and Cindy Hammond as well as 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Early on she earned a teaching certificate from Calvin College, teaching at Beaver Dam Christian School for 4 years. She was a lifelong gardener and enjoyed sharing her home grown produce and excellent canned tomato juice. She was an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church for over 60 years. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at Winchester Cemetery, 76th Street in Byron Township, at 11:00 on Tuesday June 30.
