Gordon William McPhaden Sept. 26, 1938 - March 2, 2020 Gordon William McPhaden passed away March 2, 2020, at the age of 81 after a brief illness with liver cancer (not related to COVID-19). A native of Vancouver, Wash., Gordon graduated from Vancouver High in 1956. He attended the University of Washington and Oregon State University graduating with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He participated in ROTC and served in the Army as a Captain in Europe. Gordon began his career with Birds Eye in Maine and then worked for Firestone, General Foods, and Aquarium in California and Illinois. In 1974, he began his first of many jobs at Frito Lay / Pepsi Co., as a Plant Manager. He truly enjoyed his career at Pepsi and eventually served as a VP in the Pepsi Bottling Group in New York. He retired in Connecticut and the Florida Keys. Gordon is survived by his wife of 54 years, Wanda Hall; sons, Craig and Scott (Karen); and grandchildren, Logan and Paige. Gordon enjoyed his family, travel and spending time outdoors in the mountains and oceans. He filled our hearts with love, laughter, joy, and knowledge. We will cherish his memory forever.
