Edward A. Kramer
Edward A. Kramer, age 77, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2020. He was the loving husband of Kathleen R. (Pearce) Kramer, with whom he shared over 32 years of marriage. Born in Bellevue Park, Harrisburg, Edward was a son of the late Edward F. and Miriam S. (Shue) Kramer. Ed was a graduate of John Harris High School. He went on to receive a B.A. in Economics from Gettysburg College and graduated from the National Graduate Trust School at Northwestern University. He worked in banking in the trust departments of Dauphin Deposit and Commonwealth National Bank in Harrisburg, at Lehigh Valley Bank in Bethlehem, and retired as the Vice President for Trust Investments at Santander Bank in Harrisburg. He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, stationed in Thailand. Ed's passions included baseball in any form and traveling to spring training in Florida to watch the teams of the Grapefruit League, especially his beloved Phillies. Ed and Kathy visited a dozen MLB parks across the US and Canada. Ed also enjoyed playing poker for almost 50 years with his buddies, mostly from Dauphin Deposit Bank. He also enjoyed monthly meetings with friends from the 1960 class of John Harris, and loved being with his family and church friends. Ed was a lifetime member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Harrisburg and served on the finance and stewardship committees. In addition to his wife, Ed is survived by two sons, James F. and Jon M. Kramer, two daughters, Lara Egan and Jordana Swank, and 7 grandchildren. Edward is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Kathryn Milroy Traino, and his youngest son, Joseph A. Kramer. The family extends their sincere gratitude to the staff at Brighter Living Adult Day, Carolyn's House and especially to the angels at Harrisburg Hospital for their loving and kind care. Due to the restrictions of the pandemic, funeral services will be private for immediate family only.
