In memory of
Allen Petersen
Lifelong resident of Fort Bragg, Allen Petersen, passed away at the age of 82 on June 7, 2020 from leukemia. Allen was born on May 5, 1938 to Frank and Rita Petersen and was the fourth of six sons. He graduated from the local high school and began working in the Fort Bragg/Mendocino area as a real estate broker, first as an agent and then as a partner at Penitenti/Petersen Realty until his retirement. Because of his love for community involvement, he served on the local school board as well as the Coastal Mendocino Board of Realtors. Allen was a passionate outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing trips with his family and friends. He was as comfortable in the saddle as he was on the boat. You needed to watch out for his practical jokes, and he was generous to anyone in need. He is loved and survived by his two children, Chris (Erin) Petersen and Rita (Scott) Runner, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his brother and best friend, Bob Petersen. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Frank and Rita, and four brothers, Frank Jr., Kenneth, Richard, and Roy. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
