Leamon Stough Johnson Jr.
Mr. Leamon Stough Johnson, Jr., 86, an incredibly loving and devoted family man, was received by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 20, 2020. Leamon was born and raised in Montgomery, AL, where he graduated from Lanier High School. Not long after graduation, he served our country in the U.S. Navy, on the USS Philippine Sea, during the Korean War. Following his military service in the Navy, Leamon was employed with Maxwell AFB in Montgomery. Earning a Physics degree from Florida State University, he went on to work at the Naval Coastal Systems Center where he was task leader for airborne mine countermeasures. Leamon owned and operated his own business; Leamon's Jewelry. He was a dedicated member of St. Andrews Baptist Church, where he taught the four-year-old Sunday School class. Leamon was a Shriner, fondly known as ""Coffee Break,"" and a member of the Hot Rods. Mr. Johnson is survived by his bride of 65 years, Margaret Ann Lee Johnson; daughters Peggy (Jack) MacDonald, Emma (Joe) Gomez, Nan (Donnie) Galetta; Grandchildren-Rachael, Morgan, Jack, Catherine, Gary, Irene, Becky, Tyler, Joseph, Nicholas, Nichole and Jeremy and, 16 great grandchildren. Leamon is also survived by two brothers, Tony (Lynn) Johnson and Larry (Cindy) Johnson; sister-in-law, Shirley Johnson. Mr. Johnson is preceded in death by his mother and father, Irene McLain Johnson and Leamon Stough Johnson, Sr.; brothers, Josh and Dwight Johnson and granddaughter, Margaret Alice MacDonald. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Michael Claunch officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5-7 p.m. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
