In memory of
Edward Davis
Edward W. Davis returned peacefully to his heavenly home on June 6, 2020, after many years battling poor health. Born to the late Christian Simeon and Florence Edna Davis, both educators, in Anaheim, CA on July 10, 1935. Ed spent his childhood in Live Oak CA, then went on to college at the University of La Verne where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts. Ed was a Christian educator at heart. He was very proud of his faith and his family. He was an active member of the Live Oak Church of the Brethren, Arbuckle Community Baptist Church, San Diego Church of the Brethren and in his later years, the American River Community Church in Carmichael. On May 29, 1977 he married Lorraine Charter Albertson and they moved to Arbuckle CA and together they farmed almonds and raised their combined five children. Ed loved his children unconditionally and taught them patience, discipline and humility. He had a kind and caring heart and gentle way about him. He had a beautiful tenor voice and enjoyed singing and baked the best biscuits. Ed spent his life farming peaches, prunes, walnuts and almonds and he always had a garden full of tomatoes. In 1998 he and Lorraine fulfilled their dream and retired to Fort Bragg CA where he was an active member of Kiwanis and volunteered within the church and community. He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace now with his creator. Ed is survived by his beloved wife Lorraine; Sons Paul (Ruby) and Bruce (Leah); daughters Ruth (Stuart), Julie (Wade), Ann (Ken); grandchildren Kira, Emily, Robin, Morgan, Aaron, Brandon, Cameron, Loren, Sydney, Joshua, Raymond. Ed is preceded in death by his brother Charles, sister Edna and his parents. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks and gratitude to the amazing staff at the Folsom Care Center, who cared for Ed in his last years. Ed will be buried at the Arbuckle Cemetery in a private family service to be held at a later date. Donations in honor of his memory may be made to your local church or community organization.
