Vincent Pavon Malave, 71 Golden Glove champion Vincent Pavon Malave, passed away on his birthday June 14, 2020. He was the son of the late Vincente' Malave' Pavon and Ramona Malave Hernandez. Born in the Bronx, raised in Queensbridge, L.I.C., he became a resident of Mount Loretta, lived in the Markham Homes and Port Richmond before becoming a resident of Lakeside Manor then Richmond Center Nursing Homes. Vincent was a "Golden Gloves Champion" along with his brother, Edwin "ChuChu," on March 22, 1968, and fought professionally for years. He worked at Lord & Taylor and later became ill with Mental Illness. He was funny, was a big Yankee fan and loved Frank Sinatra with passion, knew all the words to every song and was always singing his favorite "I Did it My Way." He had a great memory for dates and loved being with family, especially Sundays with his brother Marcus (Ralph) - birthdays and Christmas were also a favorite. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincente and Ramona; also by his brother, Peter, Malave; sister, Milagros; sister in law Anna Perez, and is survived by brothers, Marcus Rafael, Edwin "ChuChu", Charlie and sisters, Evelyn, Lucy, Elizabeth "Lee"; his sisters-in-law, Virginia and Carmen, and his nephews Rafael Marcus (Vinu), Andre Rafael (Ann), Nicholas Rafael (Joy); nieces Desiree his god-daughter (Dean) Laureina (Anthony), Christina, whom he was close to all of them, and grandnieces and grandnephews. Vincent will be greatly missed. Thank you to the staff at Lakeside Manor and Richmond Center for their love and patience toward our brother in difficult times. Funeral services will be a private ceremony at Scalia Funeral Home, 9 a.m. to 12 noon, Friday, and will come to rest at Oceanview Cemetery.
