George M. Carlin Jr., 53 May 19, 1967-June 8, 2020 George Michael Carlin, Jr., 53, of Old Bridge, N.J., passed away on June 8, 2020. Born in Staten Island, N.Y., George grew up in the Oakwood Heights section of Staten Island where he attended St. Patrick's School and Msgr. Farrell High School. George graduated from DeVry University in North Brunswick with a degree in information technology. George had a successful career on Wall Street, first as a foreign exchange broker, then as vice president of a major financial services firm where he was responsible for IT systems development. Determined to accomplish goals he had wanted to achieve in life, he later became proprietor of his own business. However, he did not stop there. In 2018, he fulfilled his childhood dream of becoming a locomotive engineer for NJ Transit. George was dedicated to his family. He loved gardening in his backyard and boating. George had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed helping his family, friends and neighbors. George is survived by his, wife Diane; children, Jonathan and Janine; parents, George Sr. and Susan; his four siblings, Stephen Carlin, Susan Bohus, Peggy McDermott and Michael Carlin; his brother-in-law, Ed McDermott; his sister-in-law, Renee Carlin and his many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be a private ceremony and interment at Marlboro Cemetery in New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society.
