Barbara A. O'Dell CANANDAIGUA - Barbara A. O'Dell, age 70, passed away unexpectedly, after a brief illness, on Wednesday, June 10, 2020. She is survived by two children, Tom O'Dell (Candice Drave) and Erin O'Dell; two siblings, Patty (John) D'Alessandro and Walter Fiedor; three nephews; and a niece. Barb was born in Philipsburg, PA., and was the daughter of Walter and Georgette (Chaplin) Fiedor. She was raised in Fallentimber, Pa., and was a graduate of Glendale High School, class of 1967. Barb enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1969 and was stationed at Bolling Air Force Base in Washington, D.C. She was recognized as Airman of the Quarter in June, 1971, and was promoted to rank of sergeant. Barb studied at the Bryman School in Phoenix, Ariz., to become a certified medical assistant. She spent her career working in various areas of health care: family medicine, oncology and hospital finance. Working with residents and their families in assisted living was what Barb enjoyed most in her career. She lived her life in gratitude and cherished time spent with family and friends. Barb's greatest joy of all was raising her children. A memorial service will be held at a later date and time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance, 14 Pennsylvania Plaza, Suite 2110, New York, NY 10122.
