Nora Veronica Colford
Nora Veronica Colford, 78 She was the life of the party, always up for spontaneous fun Nora Colford, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother, passed away on June 8, 2020 at age 78. She was born in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada. She moved to Brooklyn, N.Y., at a young age, where she met and married her husband of 57 years. Before moving to Staten Island, she had three children - one daughter and two sons. Nora had a zest for life and loved entertaining and cooking for her family and friends. She loved to dance and was only too glad to get up on the dance floor, where she'd twirl about, laughing, smiling, and was the life of the party. She was always up for a spontaneous adventure, like her time in Greece, which was one of her favorite trips. She was quick witted and known for one-liners that would always produce gales of laughter. Nora was fond of weekend getaways to Atlantic City with her children and grandchildren to sip champagne, catch a comedy show and try her luck at Wheel of Fortune. She is survived by her husband, Bill Colford, and their three children, Susan Colford-Castano, Douglas Colford, and Michael Ryan Colford; her loving grandchildren, Justin Kenny, Andrew Castano, Michael Castano, and Ashley Colford; and her great-grandchild, Emily Kenny. Services were held for the immediate family on Friday, June 12, 2020.
