HERMAN L. THEEL, JR. Herman (Butch) L. Theel, Jr. passed away May 7, 2020 in Las Vegas. He was born October 7, 1943 in Rochester, Minn. He married his high school sweetheart, Judith Aarness, July 29, 1963. He began working for TWA in 1965 and retired from NWA (now Delta Air Lines) in 1998. Butch was known by family and friends as a hard worker who could fix anything from car engines, flooring or refinishing tables. His hobbies included four-wheeling, camping and digging for treasures. Butch was a devoted husband and father who always sought to maintain harmony in his close relationships. He often struck up conversations with anyone he met and would be the person to give you the shirt off his back. Butch will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceeded in death by his father, Herman L. Theel, Sr. and his mother, Dorthy L. Franz both from Rochester, Minn. Butch is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judy Theel of Pahrump; daughters, Laura (John) Waddoups of Meridian, Idaho, Cindy (Don) Durgin of Houston, Texas, Joanne (Rob) Harrison of Las Vegas; son, Tim (Anne) Theel of Las Vegas; brothers, Robert (Arlene) Theel of Washington, William (Kathy) Theel of Minnesota, David (Cheryl) Theel of Minnesota; sisters, Mary (Jim) Lambrecht of Minnesota, Rosemary Frankie of Minnesota, Suzanne (Rick) Reichwaldt of Wisconsin; 19 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Due to COVID-19, Butch was cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
