Rita G. Roth BETHLEHEM Rita G. Roth, 93, of Bethlehem, PA, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2020 of complications from COVID-19. She was the beloved wife of the late Lewis W. Roth, who passed away March 7, 2004. Born May 22, 1927 in Toledo, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Armand and Clara (Erhart) Tschopp. She was a graduate of William Allen High School, Allentown, PA. She and Lewis were married on August 21, 1948. She enjoyed being a homemaker and devoted her married life to being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She painted beautiful ceramic pieces, was an enthusiastic dancer at various social clubs, and enjoyed day trips to Atlantic City and elsewhere. She is survived by her children, Susan Belser-Smith and husband Paul of Oldsmar, FL, Daniel Roth and wife Nancy Lee of Phillipsburg, NJ, Lorraine Deshler and husband David of Bangor, PA; five grandchildren, Gretchen Ryder and husband Tim, Jessica Roth and significant other Daniel Bateman, Megan Morris and husband Bryan, Bailee Deshler, Daniel Deshler; great-grandchildren, Stacie Wescoe and Damien Curnutte; cousin Joseph Erhart; and many nieces and nephews. Rita was preceded in death by her dear sister, Jeanne Bowers. The family wishes to thank the staff of Holy Family Manor for their compassionate care, her long-time hairdresser and friend Carol, Pat from Caregivers of the Lehigh Valley, and Rita's neighbors for their companionship and assistance, which allowed her to stay in the home that she loved so much. Arrangements have been entrusted to O'Donnell Funeral Home, Inc., Allentown, PA. Services are private and limited to immediate family with a Mass of Christian burial at Notre Dame Catholic Church, where she was an original member since 1954, and interment, together with her husband Lewis, at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem, PA. Rita will be dearly missed. A celebration of life will be held at a future date to include loving family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Notre Dame Catholic Church, 1861 Catasauqua Road, Bethlehem, PA 18018 or The Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired, 845 West Wyoming Street, Allentown, PA 18103.
