Ernest E. Bartholomew BETHLEHEM Ernest E. Bartholomew, 93, formerly of Plainfield Township, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2020, at Old Orchard Health Care Center in Bethlehem Township. He was the husband of the late Lula J. (Pysher) Bartholomew, with whom he shared 70 loving years of marriage prior to her passing in 2014. Born in Washington Township, he was a son of the late Edwin E. and Bessie (Santee) Bartholomew. Ernest was retired from the former Dixie Cup in Wilson Borough, PA, where he was a mechanic for 42 years. He enjoyed country & western music, and he always looked forward to spending time outside in the driveway socializing with the neighbors. Ernest was a member of Ackermanville United Methodist Church, Bangor. He is survived by his loving daughter, Ruthann Metz and her husband, Stanley, of Plainfield Township; two grandchildren, Melony Kocher of Nazareth, and Brian Metz of Plainfield Township; three great-grandchildren, Brandon, Morgan, and Macy; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Lula, he was predeceased by four brothers, Lee, Ira, Roy, and Carl Bartholomew, and three sisters, Edna Smith, Arlene Simons, and Leona Roberts. Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, a graveside service at Fairview Cemetery, Pen Argyl, will be private. Arrangements have been entrusted to the GEORGE G.
