Mrs. Shirley Ann Polan, 83 of Lynn Haven died Wednesday, May 20, 2020 in a local nursing facility. Born in Roanoke, VA she settled in Bay County in 1974 and made it her permanent home after many years moving as a military wife. Shirley was a devoted follower of Christ who spent years singing in church choirs all over the country as she traveled to where her husband was stationed. She retired as an insurance agent. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; Mary Garst and Elwyn Ferguson and husband; Riley Polan. She is survived by her son; Rick Sossaman, three daughters; Teresa Tuno and husband, Bob, Cindy McMann and Sharon Sossaman Carroll and husband, Robert, sister, Erna Mae Lindsay, seven grandchildren who affectionately called her Nannie; Samantha Tuno, Jason Tuno, Richard Sossaman, Layne Sossaman, Sean McMann, Mia Carroll and Gianna Carroll and many nieces and nephews. Due to Covid 19, the family will have a private service at Southerland Event Center on Friday, May 29, 2020. Interment will follow in the Lynn Haven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or Feeding America feedingamerica.org ) in memory of Shirley Ann Polan.
