Wilma Eloise Sims July 17, 1931 - May 17, 2020 MIDWEST CITY On Sunday, May 17th, 2020, Wilma Eloise Sims (Punky/G-mom) loving wife, and mother passed away at the age of 88. Eloise was born on July 17, 1931, in Chickasha, OK to William C. and Wilma Mae Payne. She graduated from Midwest City High School in 1948 at the age of 17. She worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone as a switchboard operator. On March 20, 1951 she married Finis Richard Sims and they had four children. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and family vacations! She loved music, flower gardening, cooking, and sketching! She was also an avid English and History buff! She was a devout Christian and a member of Midwest Boulevard Christian Church. She was a strong influence in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and was the true matriarch of the family! She was preceded in death by: her father, William C. Payne, step-father, Thurman G. Chambless and mother, Wilma Mae Chambless and brother, Richard G. Chambless. She is survived by husband, Finis R. Sims and four children, Gregory M. Sims and wife Carol, Stephen M. Sims and wife Jamie, Richard B. Sims and wife Cindy, Cynthia A. Sims and husband Robert, as well as 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Viewing will be Thursday, May 21, 2020, from 8-5 pm with family receiving friends from 2-4 pm at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home. Funeral Services to remember Wilma will be on Friday, May 22, 2020, at 1:00 pm at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Ragland officiating with burial to follow at Arlington Memory Gardens.
