Sarah Diane Marek
Sarah Diane Marek Jan. 12, 1971 - March 17, 2020 Sarah Diane Marek was born Jan. 12, 1971 to Scott and Kathleen Duncan in Portland. She moved with her family to Gresham in 1974. She attended East Gresham and McCarty grade schools and Central Catholic High School in Portland, graduating in 1989. Always the athlete, Sarah played basketball in grade school. She also enjoyed skiing and horseback riding, but softball was her favorite. Between Little League, summer ball and high school, she played 14 seasons in 10 years. After high school, Sarah studied cosmotology at Mt. Hood Community College, received her associate degree and began working as a hair stylist. On Feb.15, 1997, Sarah married George Marek. She and George always said they were "joined at the hip." They had every intention of, as they called it "becoming rocking chair pals." Not too long after their marriage, Sarah opened her own shop, Wildroot Salon, and worked as owner and stylist for 14 more years. Her dedication and wonderful sense of humor saw her through. During this time she and George yearned to live in Klamath Falls and in March of 2018, they were able to move there. Sarah died at home in Klamath Falls, the 17th of March 2020, due to ovarian cancer. She was surrounded by her husband, George; her mother and father; and her sister, Colleen. When this medical crisis is over, a Memorial service will be scheduled and information about it will be posted. Please sign the online guest book at www.oregonlive.com/obits
