Hal M. Housh July 18, 1935 - May 6, 2020 OCALA, FL Hal, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, at Ocala Regional Medical Center. He was one of eight children born to Gail Hamilton Housh and Eula Mareld (Brawner) Housh. Hal grew up on the Housh Family Farm that was homesteaded in 1898. He graduated from Del City High School in 1955. Then served his country in the Army from 1955-1957. After his honorable discharge, Hal came back to Del City and began working at the fire department. He served his community from 1957-1979 as an active firefighter, retiring as Assistant Chief. After retirement, Hal continued at the fire station as a dispatcher. Then later began working for the Del City Utilities Department in the water meter division. He dedicated his entire life to Del City and was proud to be from such wonderful community. In 2009 he moved to Ocala, Florida, to be near his children. Hal is preceded in death by: parents: Gail and Eula Housh; 2 brothers: George and Bill; 5 sisters: Lilian, Babe, Mary, Ruby, and Rosa. He is survived by: 1 daughter: Shannon Cortez and husband Tony; 1 step-son: Shane Arnold and wife Stephanie; 2 grandsons: Morgan Cortez and Aaron Arnold. A memorial service will be held in Del City, OK, in June.
