BURLINGTON - Missionary Edith Mae Williams Currie was born on June 2, 1943 to the late Thomas Bill Williams, Cordie Siddle Watlington Williams and Arvister Willis Williams in Caswell County, North Carolina. She transitioned to Heaven on May 17, 2020, at Alamance Regional Hospital. She was born in Caswell County, North Carolina and graduated from Caswell County Training School in Yanceyville, North Carolina. She earned her Early Childhood diploma from Alamance Community College. She worked for Burlington Industries, LifeSpan, and Amtech. She was preceded in death by her Sisters: Annette Williams Williamson and Isabella Watlington Thomas and bothers James Watlington and Robert Watlington Edith married Leo Hubert Currie on June 30, 1967 in Caswell County, North Carolina. They lived in Pleasant Grove, North Carolina where they raised four children, Alfreda Currie Clegg (Andy), Shelia Currie Stokes (Pastor Calvin), Lesia Currie Pride, and Leo Currie Junior, In addition to her children, she leaves in loving memory her sisters Cordie (Kido) Corbett, Willie Watlington Womack, and Lucy Siddle Vann and six grandchildren. Public Viewing for Mrs. Currie will be held on Thursday May 21 from 1 to 7pm at Sharpe Funeral Home. Due to COVID-19 Restrictions a private service will be held for Mrs. Currie with burial at Allen's Chapel Baptist Church. Sharpe Funeral Home has the pleasure of serving the Currie Family.
