In memory of
Kim Meyer
Kim Meyer of Navarre, Florida was called to her heavenly home on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at the age of 62 in Pensacola, Florida. She was born in New Boston, Texas on August 20, 1957 to her late mother Jacqueline Ferguson and father Lester Goins, 87, who currently lives in Shreveport, Louisiana. She attended various schools in Massachusetts growing up. Then, she attended Andover Junior College in Andover, Massachusetts and earned her Associate's Degree. She met her husband Joe Meyer in Destin, Florida when she was 31. They got married in Lowell, Massachusetts on March 10, 1990. She worked in the family computer business alongside her husband, doing accounting and teaching computer classes. Kim loved to play her ukulele for friends and strangers alike. She was known as the "Acronym Queen," often wearing a hat with "U.G.L.Y." written in Sharpie across the front, which stood for Understand God Loves You. She wanted everyone to know the love of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Kim had a passion for music and even had a YouTube channel under the name KompuKim with over 100 videos turning popular songs into worship songs for God. Everyone who knew her knew she had a zeal for her New England Sports teams, especially the Patriots and the Red Sox, screaming and letting everyone in the room know when they scored. Kim was preceded in death by her mother, Jackie, her brother Kit and her Uncle Mickey. She is survived by her husband Joe, her two children, Nick and Kaitie, her daughter-in-law Amy, her sisters Kathy and Kelly, and several cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at Emerald Coast Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held Friday, May 15, 2020 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Navarre. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the First Baptist Church of Navarre Children's Building fund at www.onrealm.org/fbcnavarre/give , to further the children's ministry she poured her heart and soul into for the past 30 years.
