MALACARA (nee Smith), Myra Rae Myra Rae Malacara passed away peacefully in Dallas, Texas on Friday, March 27, 2020 at the young age of 69. In her final days, she was surrounded by her loving children and the wonderful caretakers at C.C. Young Senior Living. Myra was born Myra Rae Smith on February 12, 1951 to Charles and Peggy McMullin Smith in Blytheville, Arkansas. As a child she moved with her family to Dallas where Myra resided through the remainder of her life. She was a graduate of Bryan Adams High School in 1969 and later went on to attain a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Texas at Dallas. Myra was a hard working woman who held many titles over the years from tax accountant to Army Reservist; she retired in 2017 after nearly 20 years as a National Account Manager for Amscan, Inc. She is survived by her three children and their spouses: Christy and Bill Gammill of Dallas, Jason and Sarah Adamcik of Allen, Stephanie and Dan Fine of Dallas, her brother and sister-in-law, John and Pitty Smith of Russelsheim, Germany, eight grandchildren and countless other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband of nearly 25 years Mario F. Malacara, and her parents Peggy and Charles Smith. Myra and Mario were married in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 3, 1992. They had a meaningful life together and cherished, above all, the time they spent with beloved family and friends. While we mourn the loss of this special women who was so full of life, we take comfort that she is at peace and reunited with her loving husband and parents. The family held a private burial at the Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton, Texas on April 1, 2020. A celebration of Myra's life will be scheduled for later this year.
