Shirley Rinesmith Hock Wagner, 87, formerly of Hummelstown, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2020, in The Middletown Home with her daughter by her side. Born in Hershey on November 17, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Leland E. and Ethel Shearer Rinesmith. Shirley was a Server at the former Hummelstown Veterans of Foreign Wars, and was employed at the former Verdelli Farms and Reed's Bake Shop all of Hummelstown. She was a 1951 graduate of the former Hummelstown High School. Shirley was a member of Stoverdale United Methodist Church, Hummelstown. She served as District 19 Past President and Past Department Chairperson of the American Legion Auxiliary Department of Pennsylvania, was Past President of its Tri-County Council, a Counselor at its Keystone Girls State program in Shippensburg, and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 265 in Hummelstown where she held all offices. She held offices at the 8 & 40 Salon 76 of Harrisburg; and was a member of the former Sergeant Chauncey F. Yingst Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary Unit 1687, Hummelstown. Shirley was preceded in death by her first husband, Frederick D. "Whitey" Hock on December 5, 1985; her son, Frederick E. Hock on March 21, 2010; four brothers, Russell G. Rinesmith, Ronald H. Rinesmith, Dennis L. Rinesmith and Walter Eugene Rhinesmith; and a sister, Glenda S. Morton. She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Fred Wagner, whom she married on February 26, 2005; a daughter, Debra L. Sager wife of Patrick D. of Hummelstown; two grandchildren, Matthew Bailey of Nevada, and Ava Marie Hock-Balli of Hummelstown; and two brothers, Gary D. Rinesmith of Hershey, and Terry L. Rinesmith husband of Carole Daniels of Lewisberry; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Shirley's life will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the ALA Department of PA, PO Box 1285, Camp Hill, PA 17001-1285, placing "American Legion Auxiliary Keystone Girl's State" on the memo line; or to The Middletown Home, 999 West Harrisburg Pike, Middletown, PA 17057.
