Joseph A. Niceforo BANGOR Joseph A. Niceforo, 87, of Bangor passed away Friday, March 27, at St. Luke's Hospital-Anderson Campus. Joseph was born June 29, 1932, in Bangor, a son of the late Nicholas and Margaret (Carrescia) Niceforo and the late Rose (DeNardo) Niceforo. His beloved wife for 53 years, former Maria DeMilio, passed away on February 3, 2013. He attended Bangor High School and honorably served in the US Marines Corps on the front line during the Korean War and received a Purple Heart. He worked as a fleet mechanic for Maier's Bakery, formerly Schaible's Bakery, for 36 years. He loved to visit and hunt in Maine. Joseph was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, Bangor and the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers Union. He is survived by a son, Nicholas of Bangor; a daughter, Rosemary Weber and her husband, Thomas, of Boalsburg, PA; granddaughter, Carly Marie Weber and a brother, John and his wife, Mary Ann Niceforo, of Sciota; sisters-in-law, Rita DeMilio of Roseto and Gerri DeMilio of Nazareth, and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Philip Niceforo, died earlier. Due to recent COVID-19 recommendations and restrictions, the family will have a private viewing and burial.
