Johnson, Nancy 9/11/1925 - 3/19/2020 Harbor Springs, Michigan Nancy Van Ness Christman Johnson, 94, passed away Thursday March 19, 2020 in Harbor Springs, Michigan. Nancy was born on September 11, 1925 in Bryan, OH. She graduated from Ann Arbor High School and attended Hillsdale College and the University of Michigan, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. She married George Henry Johnson in Ann Arbor on August 31, 1946. In additional to raising four children, Nancy was on the board of the Salvation Army, a cofounder of the Plymouth Arts Council. She was an original developer of the Paper Parade a stationary and specialty shop in Plymouth, MI. Due to her husband George's employment as an executive for General Motors she moved 20 times to various cities and states. George and Nancy spent many of their retirement years in Siesta Key, Sarasota, FL and in Frankfort, MI. Nancy radiated astounding love on her family, friends and everyone she met. Nancy and George were season ticket holders for the University of Michigan Football, members of the M Club, and she was a dedicated fan of all sports played in Maize and Blue. Nancy is predeceased by her parents, Lewis G. Christman and Arietta Van Ness Christman, brother Weimar L. Christman and sister Julia R. Christman Brindle. Also by the greatest love of her life, husband George in 2016 to whom she was married for 65 years. She is survived by sons: G. Craig (Patti), Jeffrey L., Bruce A. (Patsy), and daughter Martha (Tom) Cook, six grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren. A remembrance for Nancy Johnson will be held this summer in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
