Bernard Ganis Ossining - Bernard C. Ganis, 89 of Ossining, NY, passed away on March 6, 2020. Bernie was born in Brooklyn on May 3, 1930, to the late Samuel and Anna Goldberg. Bernie was a graduate of Lafayette High School, class of 1948, and CCNY with a degree in industrial engineering, class of 1952. Bernie started a career in advertising in the 1950s, He broke into television advertising and worked for ABC Broadcasting and sold television time and talent. Bernie moved into publishing and sold advertising. He was the Director for National Student Marketing Corporation (NSMC) and consulted with the American Cancer Association. He ran his own direct marketing business. Bernie ended his career as VP at CBS Magazine Network. Bernie retired at the age of 58; he and his wife, Rosemary, moved from Pleasantville, New York, to live in Tarpon Springs/Tampa. Bernie was a caring man of scholarly character, lively intellect, and broad interests with an abiding passion for history and politics. Bernie is survived by his wife of 61 years, Rosemary Ganis, née Thomas, and their twin sons, John and David Ganis, their wives Catalina and Donna, and five grandchildren Diana, Danielle, Cameron, Brian, and Ian. A private service was held in his honor.
