URSULA LEWIS
Ursula Dickel Lewis July 22, 1938 - March 12, 2020 OKLAHOMA CITY Ursula was a passionate animal lover and generous volunteer. Over the course of her life, she had many animal friends and family - horses whom she rode and cared for daily, dogs, cats and birds. She was a compassionate and dedicated hospital volunteer, serving for 37 years, logging over 15,000 hours, at Baptist Hospital where she was past President of the Baptist Medical Center Volunteer Auxiliary. She also served on the Baptist Foundation Board and volunteered at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital. Born in 1938 in Frankfurt, Germany, she came to Oklahoma City as a young adult and gave back civically to her adopted home. She was on the board of Town Hall for many years, a member of the Orchestra League, English Speaking Union, Oklahoma Art League, member of the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club, and member of the Pen & Quill Book Club. Throughout her life, she was a great friend and neighbor, leaving behind not only a loving family, but friends who will miss her. On the death of her husband, Robert Lewis, in 2006, she took up his paper route, walking the dogs every morning and placing her neighbors' papers on their doorsteps. Ursula Lewis died on March 12, at home, from unknown causes. She is survived by her sister, Doris Dickel, her niece, Claudia Brands, her step-children Nancye Green and Darcy Cobb and their husbands, and her step-grandchildren, Kelly Cobb, Tyler Cobb, Laura Paczesny, Caitlin Donovan and Alice Donovan. She is also survived by her beloved dogs, Lizzie Too and Tosca Isabella. Burial will be private. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date to celebrate Ursula's life.
