Lowell Kenneth Ahrendsen
Lowell Kenneth Ahrendsen Pittsford - Passed away peacefully on Friday, March 14, 2020 at the age of 95. He was predeceased by his parents, August and Irma Ahrendsen; and his brothers, Merlin, Norman, and Gayle Ahrendsen. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Wanda Siebels Ahrendsen; son, Jeff Ahrendsen (Sheree); daughter, Kim Miller (John); son, Curt Ahrendsen (Roxane); 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Lowell was born on July 23, 1924 in Iowa and was a proud graduate of the University of Iowa, earning a degree in mechanical engineering. Lowell and his wife, Wanda, were married on March 25, 1951. He served in the Army Signal Corps at the end of WWII and during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a manufacturing engineer for Eastman Kodak Company for 42 years. A member of Monroe Golf Club for 64 years, he served as president of the Rochester District Golf Association and regularly played the game into his nineties. He was a member of The Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer for over 65 years. The family sends grateful thanks to the staff at The Highlands and The Highlands Living Center for their loving care and to his friends for visits, emails, and cards. A reception to celebrate his life will be held at a later date. Internment is private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be sent to The Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 1549 Dewey Avenue, Rochester, NY 14615 or to Camp Courageous, 12007 190th Street, Monticello, Iowa 52310.
