Bruce A. Brigham
Bruce A. Brigham, Lt Col (ret) US Army, 97, of Lakeland, Florida, entered into eternal rest on March 10, 2020. He was born on June 14, 1922 in Ft. Knox, Kentucky. After retirement from the Army he lived in Tallahassee and Panama City, Florida, and moved to Florida Presbyterian Homes in Lakeland with his daughter and son-in-law in 2016. He was a proud 1939 graduate of Moses Brown School in Providence, Rhode Island. He also earned a BA and completed the ROTC program at the University of Washington, and an MLS at Florida State University. He served in the Quartermaster Corps during WWII, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War, and later as a prison librarian at the Reception and Medical Center in Lake Butler, Florida. He loved his family, and enjoyed writing, editing, crossword puzzles and antique collectibles. Bruce was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Munt Brigham; parents, Col. Wesley and Dorothy Brigham; and sister, Dorothy Jean Brigham. He is survived by his daughter, Sarah Brigham Howell (Larry) of Lakeland; grandchildren, Matthew Lawrence Howell (Spela) of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Katherine Howell Irwin (Paul) of Evergreen, Colorado; and great-grandchildren, Benaiah Howell, Ian Howell, and Lina Howell. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 26 at 2 p.m. at Tallahassee Memory Gardens, 4037 North Monroe Street, Tallahassee, Florida 32303. Expressions of condolence at abbeyfh.com.
