In memory of
Kathleen M. (Kathie) Walters
Kathleen M. (Kathie) Walters Kathie Walters passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 14, 2020, at the age of 80 years. Kathie was born on June 2, 1939 in Wisconsin, and at age 16 she moved to California with her family. She obtained a master's degree in education from Cal Poly, Pomona, while working at Edison Electric, and began her teaching career shortly after. Teaching was Kathie's passion, and during her 30+ year career, she educated and touched the lives of many children. She was an avid golfer, and during her years at Oasis Country Club, she golfed several times per week and even had a few holes in one! She enjoyed spending time with her golf community friends, attending happy hours (ok, she liked wine…), luncheons and other social events. She was an active volunteer in the community as well, spending many years at a local thrift shop, and working with various other charity organizations in the desert communities. Most importantly, Kathie was a devout Christian, serving on the board at her church, and eventually becoming a Stephens Minister so as to help others in need of support. She is preceded in death by parents Tony and Dorothy Bozich, husband Leo, and sister Margret "Marty" Michaels. She will forever be in the hearts of surviving sisters Freddi Pulice, Toni Pitts, Jo Burson, and brother Tom Bozich. Kathie touched many, many lives - and will truly be missed. Services will be held at a future date TBD. Family members will be in contact with close friends, and will post an announcement as soon as arrangements can be made. In lieu of flowers, please send donation to American Lung Association, or the Education Charity of your choice.
