Mr. Horst Karl Burmeister
Mr. Horst Karl Burmeister, age 82, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2020. He was born October 26, 1937 in Wessling, Germany to Karl and Johanna Koch Burmeister. Mr. Burmeister had been a resident of DeFuniak Springs, Florida for over 55 years after moving to America from Germany. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was an avid golfer and was very instrumental in developing the Golf Course at the DeFuniak Springs Country Club. He loved traveling the world with his wife of fifty-five years, Ingrid Burmeister. He also enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events with his wife. Mr. Burmeister was preceded in death by his father and mother. Mr. Burmeister is survived by his loving wife, Ingrid Burmeister of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; two daughters, Tanya Halstead and husband Robert of Pensacola, Florida and Nicole Andrews and husband Forrest of Jacksonville, Florida; his sister, Hanna Geipel and husband Fritz of Germany; and five grandchildren, John Paul Halstead, Stephen Halstead, Christopher Halstead, Forrest Andrews II and Alexis Andrews.
