In memory of
John Jude Sins
John Jude Sins John Jude Sins was born on June 21st 1965 and passed away peacefully at home on March 10 2020 after a battle with colon cancer. His husband Steven Acree and his son Justin Cowart-Sins were with him, holding his hands, as one of the brightest stars in the heavens for many of us dimmed and finally winked out. John was always so grateful and full of life; enjoying the happiness of others, while enriching the lives that he touched. John was selfless, honest, funny, sincere, loving, empathetic and gave great advice. He always gave of himself for the betterment of others, which gave him comfort and solace. His positivity and ready smile impacted people around him and our memories of him ease our despair. John Jude Sins was a bright and brilliant person whose time with us was short but magnificent, which is why we love him to the moon and back. In addition to his dedication to his family and friends, John also loved to two-step, and he could never resist a good deal on anything. He was a world-class cook. John is survived by his loving husband of twenty years Steven Acree, his son Justin Cowart-Sins (Dawn), sister Cherie Taylor (Brian), brother Joe Sins (Kristen), brother Maurice Sins, half-siblings Debbie Fairchild and Arthur Hoffman, and grandchildren Charity, Faith, Hope, Joy, and Brendan Cowart-Sins. He was preceded in death by his brother Phillip and his parents Phillip and Lorraine Sins. A short graveside memorial will be held Friday March 20th at 11:30 AM at Desert Memorial Park in Cathedral City California, followed immediately by interment of a portion of his remains. At a later date a celebration honoring his life will be held in California. In addition to the observations in California a memorial will be held in Bloomington Indiana with interment of the other part of his remains in the cemetery at Foundation Church in Edmonton Kentucky to follow. Dates and times will be determined later. In lieu of flowers or other mementos, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society or some other cancer research facility.
