Richard Byford 1945 - 2020 We mourn Richard Byford, born in England, January 26,1945, who passed away on February 25, 2020. Richard was an entertainer at heart, a renaissance man with a wide portfolio of skills and knowledge. Music was his passion throughout his life. He was a singer/songwriter/poet/musician with hit records in several countries and several Grammy nominations. Partnering with Mary Avery in 1971, they formed the Palm Springs based entertainment duo of "Richard and Mary", entertaining locally and internationally for 46 years. In tandem with his singing career, he also created Byway Entertainment, an entertainment talent agency and event planning company, where he was an early experimenter and vocal advocate in the movement toward "Green" events. Richard is survived by his ex-wife Mary Avery. Contributions in his memory to the American Cancer Society or the City of Hope would be appreciated.
