Ronald D. Chase Palm Springs - Ronald D. Chase passed away in Palm Springs, CA, on February 22, 2020, at the age of 95. He was born on March 14, 1924, to Athene and Elmer Chase, in Niles, Michigan. He had one sister, Monica. His father passed away when Ron was only six years old. The family built a country home outside of Niles. Ron's early education was in a one room school house. The family relocated to Kalamazoo, Michigan, to live with Ron's grandmother. He graduated from Central High School majoring in art. His mother always wanted Ron to be a professional dancer. He learned to tango, rhumba, exhibition waltz and tap and performed at local functions, Ron was drafted into the Army during World War Il and spent over three years in the infantry. Two of those years were in Italy. During that time Ron was a squadron leader and he fought and walked his way the entire length of Italy from Naples to the Alps. After being discharged, he enrolled at the University of Southern California. He earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree. He was employed by Shell Oil Company as a district engineer to design, build and maintain marketing facilities. His vocation took him to locations in San Bernadino, San Diego, New York City and finally to Atlanta, Georgia. While living in Atlanta, in 1971, Ron met his life partner, Michael Price. They moved to Palm Springs, CA, in 1992 and owned a guest hotel for six years. Ron always loved to travel. He visited all fifty states, Canada, Mexico, Central and South America. Ron toured all of Europe, Scandinavia, Russia and Egypt. He is survived by his life partner of 49 years Michael Price of Palm Springs, California.
