JOSEPH PETE DASIS Joseph Pete Dasis, 86, passed away Feb. 25, 2020. Joe leaves behind his wife, Ida, of 29 years; daughters, Dora Lee Mauro, Chris (Jeff) Stukas; stepdaughters, Kathey (Gerry) Ditzler, Roena Weideman, Joni Clark; stepsons, Anthony, Alfonso, Jesse (Sherry) Sandoval; 22 Grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. Joe was preceded in death by his son, Russell Dasis, born Oct. 22, 1933 in Trinidad, Colo. He was raised in Denver, Colo. Joe served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1954. He served during the Korean Conflict on the U.S.S. Randolph. He moved to Las Vegas in 1965 and was employed as a gourmet waiter at various casinos and employed with the Hilton for 22 years. Upon retirement, he and his wife enjoyed an adventure of owning several greyhound race dogs in Florida. In 1996, he returned to Nevada residing in Pahrump. In 1998, West Valley Mission Baptist Church services were held out of Joe's home until 2002 when it was relocated to Buol Lane. Joe served as Deacon, Elder, and choir singer, helping with all duties of the church. In 2008, he became an active member of Central Valley Baptist Church of Pahrump. A Graveside Service will be held March 5, 2020 at 10:40 a.m. at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City, NV. Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
