Elizabeth Eckvahl "Joan" Eaton
Elizabeth "Joan" Eckvahl Eaton passed away February 8, 2020 in Wildomar, California, at 82 years of age. Joan was born May 1937 in Anaconda, Montana to Margaret O'Brien Eckvahl and Ernest Eckvahl. She graduated from Anaconda Central High School in 1955 and soon after moved to Alhambra, California with her best friends Betty Stevenson Longo and Patricia Weist Hoover, they remained friends their entire lives. Joan met Tony Eaton at a beach party, and they were married November 1960, they celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary in 2019. Joan and Tony settled in Long Beach, California and raised their three daughters. Joan worked as a front office assistant for several local doctors' practices. In their golden retirement years, Joan and Tony sold their home and became full time RVers. They traveled all over the US, Canada and Mexico. Notable trips to the Canadian Maritime Provinces, Baja California and several trips to Alaska where they stayed for several months. Joan loved her RV friends and the lifestyle, she would often say she lived in the best place in the world when discussing the semipermanent RV spot at Jojoba Hills just east of Temecula, California. Joan had a caring personality and a creative spirit; she will be dearly missed by her friends and family. Joan is survived by her husband Tony Eaton; daughters Cheryl (Don) Logue, Janet Eaton, Karen Eaton; grandchildren David Croshaw and Claire Croshaw; her brother Donald (Virginia) Eckvahl and nephews Tom Eckvahl, Steven (Shelley) Eckvahl, James (Chantal) Eckvahl and Donald Eckvahl Jr. A celebration of life will be held at Jojoba Hills Resort in Aguanga, California on March 21, 2020. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to the American Kidney Fund – www.kidneyfund.org.
