Alverta Reddinger BANGOR Alverta Reddinger, 104, of Bangor, PA and resident of the Episcopal Apartments for 33 years, passed away Thursday, Feb. 13, 2020, at Slate Belt Health and Rehab. Center, Bangor. Alverta was born in North Bangor, PA, on Sept. 29, 1915, a daughter of the late Eli and Elizabeth (Ace) Strouse. She was the widow of Glenwood Reddinger, who passed in 1976. Alverta was employed as a sewing machine operator at the former Marvel Garments in East Bangor, PA, until retiring in 1978. She was a member of UNITE, the garment workers union. She was a lifetime member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bangor, PA, where she was a member of the VonBora Circle. Alverta is survived by two daughters, Barbara Hallet, wife of Larry, and Deborah Moser; a brother, David "Pete" Strouse, husband of Elaine; four grandchildren: Todd Hallet, husband of Michelle, Scott Hallet, husband of Connie, Andrea Moser, and Allyson Edwards, wife of Brandon, and six great-grandchildren: Andrew, Samantha, and Olivia Hallet, Aubree, Kinlee, and Reede Edwards. She was preceded in death by six sisters and brothers and a son-in-law, Michael Moser. A funeral service will be held on Monday, Feb. 17, at 2 p.m. at the James B. Gaffney Funeral Home, 314 S. First St., Bangor, PA. Burial will be held at Flicksville Cemetery, Bangor, PA. Online condolences may be offered at www.gaffneyparsons.com .
