Thomas P. Altunaga Retired construction superintendent, U.S. Army veteran, 83 Thomas P. Altunaga, 83, of Cedar Grove, N.J., died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2020. Born in Montclair, N.J., Mr. Altunaga resided in Cedar Grove for his entire life. He retired as a construction superintendent with Verona Construction Co., now known as MARVEC Construction, of Verona, N.J. He enjoyed playing golf and handball. Mr. Altunaga was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1954-1957. He was a member of American Legion Post #185 of Caldwell, N.J. Predeceased by his parents, Tomas and Theodora (nee Feraco) Altunaga, survivors include his wife of 58 years, the former Mary Ann Scillia, and his daughter, Kristen Mary Altunaga of Caldwell. Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. on Monday, at Bizub-Parker Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Little Falls, N.J. Funeral will be at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, from the funeral home, and at 10 a.m. at St. Theresa of Calcutta Parish, Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, 32 North Fullerton Ave., Montclair, N.J. Interment to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Upper Montclair, N.J.
