Rita Dobbertin Steel Rochester - Passed away on February 13th, 2020 at the age of 87 after a brave and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Predeceased by her parents, Carl C. and Margaret S. Dobbertin; sisters, Irene Deckard and Eleanor Church. She is survived by her children, Linda Gebhardt of Vermont, Kathleen, Carolyn, Kenneth Steel; grandchildren, Jennifer (Brad) Bowman of Utah and Tyler (Alexandria) Gebhardt of Vermont; great-grandchildren, Julianne Gebhardt, Cooper Bowman and anticipated delivery of Gregory Gebhardt along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Rita was a strong selfless, independent woman who loved her family. She was an avid gardener and a lover of nature, especially deer, birds and cats. Hobbies included cross stitch, needle work and puzzles. She is already greatly missed. Family will receive friends from 4PM - 6PM on Sunday February 16th, 2020, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Avenue. A graveside service will be held on Monday February 17th, at 11AM at White Haven Memorial Park, 210 Marsh Rd Pittsford, NY 14534.
