In memory of
Peter Jon Peterson
Peter Jon Peterson 1970-2020 With profound sadness we share the passing of Peter on February 1, 2020 in Long Beach CA. He is survived by his mother Gail Peterson and her husband George Monroe, his stepparents Lisa and Bruce Fay, many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by cousins, Jodie and Jake who were like siblings to him. He experienced great love from family, friends and many pets. A graduate of Irondequoit High School, there were great adventures during Peter's life: NOLS outdoor leadership in Alaska, Ithaca College including a freshman semester in London, graduating from the University of Colorado Boulder. Peter was a rafting guide in Colorado and experienced the thrill of rafting in the Grand Canyon. Diagnosed with melanoma in 2014, Peter considered each new day a gift with the philosophy of "Ask and it will be given; seek and you will find; knock and the door will open." Matthew 7: 7-11 Peter's memory portrait is that of a kind, caring, loving, smart, handsome, talented young man of matchless courage & perseverance. We hold his memory in the loving embrace of our hearts. "We must not cease from exploration and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we began and to know the place for the first time." T.S. Eliot There will be no calling hours or service at this time. Contributions in Peter's memory may be kindly directed to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
