In memory of
Barbara Ann Mouton Prejean
Barbara Ann Mouton Prejean Lafayette - Barbara Ann (Mouton) Prejean, 82, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, February 10, 2020, surrounded by her family. She is survived by a daughter, Jolene Prejean (Kevin); a son, Barry Prejean (Heidi); 15 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Joseph Prejean; sons, Timothy T. Prejean (an angel baby), Timothy M. Prejean, and Jason Prejean (Tammy); and her parents, Dudley and Mabel (Sellers) Mouton. In 1958 she married her sweetheart whom she had written to during his service in the Korean War. Barbara was a lifelong homemaker who dedicated her life to taking care of her family, even through her final years. She loved cooking, shopping, decorating, and providing beautiful and memorable holidays for her family. She was also a music lover who enjoyed singing and adored hearing her family sing to her. Barbara was a strong and resilient woman who never recognized her own courage. Through the loss of three children, her parents, and her husband, her strength never wavered. She selflessly nursed her husband through his battle with Alzheimer's, while fighting her own battle with recurrent breast cancer. She was a survivor who valiantly fought breast cancer for 21 years and maintained her dignity to the very end. Her indomitable will and resilience shall always inspire those who knew her. Barbara will be remembered as a beautiful and shy woman who had a great sense of humor and loved her family. To honor her wishes, her family will celebrate her life in a private memorial service. Her family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice of Acadiana for their support and compassion during her time of need. Sign the guestbook online at www.syriefh.com
