GALVA - Dean E. Wexell, 87, Galva, died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2020, at Courtyard Estates of Galva. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 2020, at the Galva Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services. Rev. Martin Gutzmer will officiate. Burial will be in the Galva Cemetery with military services conducted by the Galva Fusiliers. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, 2020, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Dean Wexell Memorial Fund. Dean Edwin Wexell was born Feb. 3, 1933, in Cambridge Township, the son of Fred and Maude Anderson Wexell. He was educated in Galva and graduated from Galva High School in 1951. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era. His marriage to Darlene Hodges took place on April 22, 1956, in Galesburg. He farmed in Cambridge Township all of his working life. Dean also was a driver for Mike Blade Trucking in Cambridge during the late 1970s and early 1980s. He was a member of the Hagberg-Hamlin American Legion Post No. 45 in Galva. Those surviving are his wife, Darlene, Galva; a son and daughter-in-law, Duane and Connie Wexell, Cambridge; three grandsons; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. His parents; a son, Eugene; three sisters, Rhonda, Verna and Pearl; and two brothers, Richard and Warren, preceded him in death. Online condolences may be expressed at www.stackhousemoore.com.
