Francis Xavier "Frank" Timmer Jr.
Francis 'Frank' Xavier Timmer Jr. Born March 11, 1925, Francis "Frank" Xavier Timmer Jr., surrounded by his family went home to be with Jesus on Feb. 8, 2020, at the age of 94. When he was just 18, Frank was drafted into the Army to serve his country in WWII. After serving in the 631st engineer division, Frank spent time abroad in Europe. During his time away, he corresponded with and fell for Alice "Dolly" Cruts who he soon married in 1946. Frank and Alice chose to settle in the town of Washington and raise their two children, Dale and Karen. In addition to being a dedicated, loving and selfless husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Frank was an avid bowler and loved restoring cars, flying model airplanes, dancing and making people smile. Frank worked in a body shop before becoming an adjuster for Selective Insurance Company, which he retired from in 1987. He was very active and even went skydiving at age 91! Frank joins his wife Alice and his sister Hazel Hardie in Heaven. He is survived by his children, Dale Timmer (Peggy his wife) and Karen English; his grandchildren, Andria Timmer (Brian her husband), Francis English (Katie his wife), Gene English (Sara his wife), Audra Brink (Dave her husband), his four great-grandchildren, Roan, Teyla, Axton and Emrys, his nephew, Bill Hardie and his dear friend, Alice Schreffler. Frank's memorial service will be held at Faith Discover Church, where he was a member at 12 noon Saturday, Feb. 15, 2020. Located at 33 Brass Castle Rd., Washington, NJ 07882. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice.
