Frederick E. "The Dumper" Silfies
Frederick E. Silfies EASTON Frederick E. "The Dumper" Silfies, 68, of Easton, passed into Eternity on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020, in Easton Hospital surrounded by family and his dearest friends. He was born in Easton, PA, to the late Robert W. and Madlyn R. (Druckenmiller) Silfies on July 27, 1951. Fred was the youngest child in a family of eight children. He graduated from Easton High School. Fred worked in the garment industry as a cutter and patternmaker mostly at A & H Sportswear until his retirement. His passion was Harley Davison motorcycles as an owner, rider and fan. He enjoyed traveling the country. Most of his lasting friendships were forged through cycling. Fred felt he was the richest man in the world because of all the friends he had. Surviving are two daughters, Victoria Heater and her husband, Shawn, of North Carolina and Wendi Dougherty of Freemansburg; their mother, Danelle Kookan of Freemansburg; two brothers, William A. Silfies and his wife, Carol, of Easton and Kenneth C. Silfies and his wife, Patricia, of Bushkill Township; a sister, Ann Marie Smith and her husband, James, of Easton; five grandchildren, Kyle and Austin, Ryan, Stephanie and Abigail; a great-granddaughter, Layla; a step-granddaughter, Shawn; a step-great-granddaughter, Nina; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his longtime companion, Janet Davis; two brothers, Richard M. and Robert R. Silfies, and two sisters, Dorothy LaBarre and Marilyn Brailo. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., 602 W. Berwick Street, Easton. Offer online condolences at www.strunkfh.com .
